Why your band MUST have a website

Simply put, if you want to be taken seriously, you MUST have a website. (And that doesn’t mean a domain name that links to your myspace or facebook page.)
Your band’s website will be the hub of everything that has to do with your band.

Hells Bells – AC/DC tribute

It’s the AC/DC tribute, “Hells Bells,” from Nashville, TN.
They sound like the real deal… Brian Johnson circa 1983, is really David Jaynes. Angus Young is played by Evan Christopher.
Sans the giant “Hell’s Bell” and the cannons usually blasting during “For Those About To Rock (We Salute You)” – the predictable finale of any AC/DC show – the impersonators from Nashville put on a great show, including some retro hits not usually heard these days: “Flick Of The Switch” and “If You Want Blood, You Got It” to name a couple.

Whiskey Folk Ramblers entertain in Little Rock on 12.3.10. Richard Lee Davenport on accordion, Jack Daw Russell on bass.
Whiskey Folk Ramblers spent their first night on a Little Rock stage introducing their brand of bluegrass and gypsy influenced country to fans of the headliner, Old 97s.
Lead vocalist and guitarist, Tyler Rougeux, told the crowd of a few hundred that he was “tired of sitting around” after recent back surgery and that the band “decided to just come on up to Little Rock and play a show.” Rougeux sat the entire show, apparently much to his dismay.
Nobody minded though and, as the show went on, the crowd inevitably started dancing to the band’s jams.

Indie Pop laced with Baroque undertones and fronted by a physics major.
Ra Ra Riot stops by the Rev in support of their sophmore CD release, “The Orchard,” and put on a solid show for a few hundred mostly college age fans.
Lead singer, Wes Miles, noted that this was the band’s first time playing in Arkansas, and the sextet didn’t seem to disappoint – gliding through one tune after another. The players are all rather versatile too – Wes picking up a guitar when guitarist Milo Bonacci takes up keys; cellist Alexandra Lawn takes up vocals on “You And I Know.”
Perhaps it’s the fact that you just don’t often see a band with both a violinist and cellist playing indie rock / chamber rock, but the flow of energy on stage is as entertaining to watch as the music is to listen to.
I mean, how often can you see a band in an intimate venue that appears on both NPR’s World Cafe and Carson Daly?

Filter opened for Bush a few days ago in Dallas in front of about 2000 at The Palladium Ballroom. In contrast, the intimate show at Rev Room Wednesday night in from of about 200 was a Filter fanatic’s dream.
Anybody who wanted to could watch this band of 90′s fame up close and personal. One ridiculously rabid fan caught lead singer Richard Patrick’s attention by fist pumping non-stop just a foot away from him. “This guy is the f’n bomb!” Richard remarked. “I just wish he’d quit wacking me in the shin!”
The around 90 minute set consisted of songs off Filter’s new CD, “The Trouble With Angels,” favs from the “Short Bus” album, and their most popular tunes, “Take A Picture” and the finale, “Hey Man, Nice Shot.”
If you love live music, you know there’s nothing like an up close and personal show with any worthy band, and Filter absolutely fit the bill.
